Reflection of light
A rubber ball comes back when it is
thrown on the ground. Similarly, light rays
that fall on a surface return back. This process
is called reflection. The ray of light that falls on an object is termed as “the incident ray” and the ray of light that comes back is termed “the reflected ray”. Objects which are opaque and have smooth surfaces reflect light much better and in a regular manner.
Rough surfaces reflect light in an irregular manner.
